The Club often gets requests to coach different sports at the Club. The procedure is simple.
- Get a volunteer application from the Club or from the home page.
- Fill it out.
- Drop it off to the Club.
- Attend a coaching meeting (specific to the sport) and/or complete the requirements as set out by the Club.
After we run a background check, we will contact you about coaching. You would probably be contacted by our Athletic Director, Oliver Deal.
If you do want to coach, we encourage you to start the process sooner than later. Six to eigh weeks prior to the start of the season is preferred. This will allow us to figure out how many teams we can have based upon the number of coaches we have. Not enough coaches means larger teams which means less playing time for the kids.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF OUR COACHES.
The Club has a
code of conduct for its coaches, which will be reviewed at each sport's coaching meeting. Aside from noting the obvious behavior aspects (as a role model to the kids) coaches are also encouraged to:
- Contact the Club immediately if all the kids on your roster are not showing up.
- Contact the Club with the regular location and time that you practice.
- Contact the Club if there is an issue with another team, referees, or parents. Coaches are also encouraged to contact the Club if disciplinary measures imposed would result in a player not meeting the required playing-time in each game.
