Elysian Fields Elementary Extension
This unit opened during the school year in 2008. The EF Extension is located in Elysian Fields Elementary School.
EF Reopens for the school year
Monday August 22 from 3pm - 6pm.
A typical day in a school based site will be:
3:00 The Bell Rings
The kids go to the designated Boys & Girls Clubs site at their school.
The kids get homework help first through a program we call Power Hour.
The kids will then get a snack.
After that it is up to the teacher, but it is always a mix of physical activity and HYLA-High Yield Learning Activities.
Physical activity is as you imagine it, games, basketball, playground, kickball, frisbee... whatever - but something to keep our kids moving.
Other mental enrichment might include art, music, sing alongs, science projects, sign language, or some of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's fantastic programs.
