This unit opened during the school year in 2007. The Hallsville Unit is located in the
Intermediate School.Reopens for the school year
Monday August 22 from 3pm - 6pm
A typical day in a school based site will be:
3:00 The Bell Rings
The kids go to the designated Boys & Girls Clubs site at their school.
The kids get homework help first through a program we call Power Hour.
The kids will then get a snack.
After that it is up to the teacher, but it is always a mix of physical activity and HYLA - High Yield Learning Activities.
Physical activity is as you imagine it, games, basketball, playground, kickball, frisbee... whatever - but something to keep our kids moving.
Other mental enrichment might include art, music, sing alongs, science projects, sign language, or some of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's fantastic programs.
