So You Think You Can Cook!
The People's Choice Competition
Everyone has a special dish that they call their own. To add a fun element for the community, we have the People's Choice. Anyone can enter and anyone can vote.
RULES
Entrants Must:
Pay $10 preregistration (by Friday 6/1 at noon) or $15 (on the day of) per dish they are entering. People wanting to preregister will need to contact
the Club by calling (903) 935-2030, faxing at 888-479-KIDS, or through email to bryan@bgcbp.com with the subject line of "People's Choice"
Have enough for 50 servings (these will go in the 2 oz monkey dishes
that we provide) Note: a regular sized cake is close to 75 servings.
**To preregister, please send an email to bryan@bgcbp.com with the following information:
- Your name
- Your cel number
- Your email address
- What item you are entering (if you know)
Have their homemade dishes turned in by noon on Saturday 6/2. Any dish that is deemed 'not homemade' will be disqualified.
Any one person may enter as many food items into the Peoples Choice as
they would like, its still $10 per (or $15 per)
Entrants may not enter any of the items in the sanctioned part of the
CFK (chicken, ribs, brisket). That is not to say you couldn’t make a pasta dish
with brisket shaved into it, but you definitely cannot enter just brisket or
brisket sandwiches.
The Competition:
The public (People in the community) can pay $3 per person to get in
the "People’s Choice” area.
These people can sample whatever they want to sample
The public vote is with their money. There will be a plastic bin in
front of each item that says "cheesecake” or "jambalaya” or whatever the dish
may be. If you like the cheesecake, give it a dollar or two. If you love the
jambalaya, give it a $10 bill. Entrants are encouraged to invite their friends.
Voting ends at 1:30 and the bin with the most money in it is the
winner.
Prizes:
Prizes are based upon the number of entry fees received.
The prize breakdown is 70% for first, 20% for second, and 10% for
third.
The winner will be announced at 3pm when the winners of the BBQ are
entered.
